The leader of the Sadrist Movement, Moqtada al-Sadr confirmed on Sunday that he is still an advocate for unity and peace.
“We are still advocates for unity and peace. We are still advocates for brotherhood between sects and religions, trends and ideas, as well as one religion, one doctrine, we are all Iraqis”, Sadr said on Twitter.
On Saturday, Sadr held a meeting with incumbent Prime Minister Haider Abadi for consultations over forming the coming government.
The Iraqi parliamentary elections, which were held on May 12, witnessed the victory of Saairun Alliance that is backed by Sadr.
