US Defense Secretary James Mattes said on Friday that his country would prevent the re-emergence of an organization calling back in Iraq.
Matisse said at a press conference today that the US forces had conducted military operations against the extremist organization in Iraq and Syria, stressing that these forces will continue to carry out operations in both countries.
He added that “we will prevent the emergence of the organization again in Iraq,” saying that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “NATO” will strengthen its efforts in Iraq.
“We welcome the democratic process in Iraq, whether good or not,” he said. “We will deal with any new Iraqi government and respect the will of Iraqi voters.”
“The alliance of NATO and US forces will continue to exist in Iraq until the formation of the new government to begin with a round of understandings on this matter.”
