The Iraqi government decides to form a committee to receive complaints from citizens regarding the electoral process


The Iraqi government decided on Tuesday to form a committee to receive and investigate complaints from citizens about the electoral process.

“The Cabinet decided in its regular session on Tuesday, based on the provisions of Article 80/1 of the Constitution, to form a committee headed by the President of the Federal Audit Bureau and the membership of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Integrity Commission And the deputy head of the National Security Service.

He pointed out that the committee receives complaints from citizens related to the electoral process and administratively investigated with the members of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission and its employees who caused the disruption of the electoral process.

The statement pointed out that the committee to seek the assistance of experts and the formation of sub-committees to complete their work, raise its recommendations to the relevant authorities, each according to its competence.

The committee will complete its work within a maximum of 14 days, the statement said.
