StephenMac63:  Statistically Speaking

Life is all about statistics, percentages and ratios. The best example that can be examined by the reader would be the high school gym during a Pep Rally. So, lets flashback to those times and remember what it was like, shall we?

When we enter the gym for the Pep Rally we find that the four various classes seat in their area, we have the freshman class with the excitement of no longer having to deal with the junior high crowd and are now embarking on the high school years. I call these the Crawlers as they are still trying to navigate an unfamiliar environment, making new friends from strangers.

One of the first rules a Freshman learns ( at least in my school) you had to get a girlfriend within the first two weeks of school or you are stuck with the left-overs. But then you find out that the girls believe in something that was considered good for the world…it was called Recycling….hard to imagine a guy being recycled.

Then there are the Sophomores, these I call the Walkers as they are no longer crawling through the system trying to figure it out, they have some sense of direction in their lives. The the experiences in school they have found at least something that prevents them from wandering. Next are the Juniors, I call them the Runners, much more mature then the Freshman and Sophomores and they will be the school leaders next year.

Lastly we have the Seniors, these are the Flyers, they have been there/done that in the high school routine and within 12 months the majority of them will by flying to the new destination of life.

This is where the statistics come into play. As you look across your gym you realize that every single person there represent a statistic. There will be a percentage of them that will drop out of school, perhaps a couple of girls will get pregnant, a percentage will go off to college, some may only make it to a 2 year Junior College for 5 years and change majors, and some may not even go at all and enter the workforce doing laborious jobs as construction.

A few might try to stay home as long as possible so the Mother doesn’t suffer from Empty Nest Syndrome. Some may be presidents of corporations, others may be career criminals. A percentage will marry before 30, some may never get married. A few will wind up with three marriages under the wedding tux. Your gym has a definite statistic for the above mentioned categories for that very Pep Rally you are remembering.

Each year, the statistics are not the same, because there are “variables”. Variables are what throws a “predicted” outcome off.

One variable that the majority of us in DinarLand did not count in was the fact that we would all be sitting in the high school cafeteria wondering when the IQD was going to be reinstated/revalue.

Variables happen because of definitive choices by a percentage of population.

You made that choice to invest in the IQD, you were the variable, as you didn’t want to be a “statistic”.

My hats off to you, congrats  (thumbs up)
