Iranian interference in Arab affairs must be confronted: Saudi cabinet

Saudi Arabia’s cabinet condemned on Tuesday Iran over its interfering in Arab internal affairs, the latest incident of which was its support of the Polisario Front in Morocco, Saudi Press Agency reported.

During a session headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi cabinet stressed on the need to unify efforts and stances to confront the Iranian regime interference in Arab countries affairs.

Last week, Morocco has severed diplomatic ties with Iran over Tehran’s support for the Polisario Front, a Western Sahara independence movement.

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita accused Iran and its Lebanese Shi’ite ally, Hezbollah, of training and arming Polisario fighters via the Iranian embassy in Algeria.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for Morocco and all steps that would safeguard its stability, including cutting diplomatic relations with Iran.
